Polaroid Project

I haven’t felt that I’ve had much to write about recently, but I have started a picture project that will take me through the year. On January 1st, I decided I wanted to take an instant photo with my Polaroid camera every day for one year. I’m hanging them from a string of lights in my room. The pictures are of events in my life, something I’m doing, or just something I find pretty or interesting. My intent for doing this project is to have something to look to when days seem dark. I can look at each photo and realize that even in the bad moments, overall life is grand. I’m going to start sharing some of my favorites here. Hopefully this will inspire me to begin writing again and maybe help others focus on the good in their lives, no matter how small the moment is! Here are some highlights from what I’ve taken so far. I will use less photos in upcoming posts.

January 1st- the beginning of the project

January 3rd- Wine and cards with lovely ladies

January 5th- Pita bread and hummus cooking class with mom and Mel

January 9th- I tried out for the local play. I’ve wanted to audition for the plays since the beginning of time basically

January 10th- Cousin Chris in town

January 12th- yoga and beer taught me Mel

January 14th- first read-thru of the play

January 15th- homemade tamales from Heidi

January 16th- hike with Emmy and Gilly

January 17th- after work beer with mom

January 19th- received and read my first issue of a horticultural magazine

January 21- started working at Landon’s again

January 22nd- enjoying my Starbucks while listening to Billy Joel in my car before work

January 23rd- a doozy of a storm

January 27th- night in reading with mom

January 28th- after work snacks and chats with mom

January 29th- this is the back entrance to the theatre we use for rehearsal. I just like how unwelcoming it is

January 31st- how I felt after a very long day

February 1st- pool with friends

February 5th- Emmy spreading a brand new toy

February 6th- very cold. -2 degrees. Felt like -20

February 8th- spent the evening listening to live music
